Worth a trip to to see "The Van Gogh and the Sunflowers" at the Van Gogh Museum June 12-September 1 2019! Book your tickets !!!

Zonnebloemen_uitsnede_PB_LR.jpgCreditline: Vincent van Gogh, Sunflowers (detail), 1889. Oil on canvas, 95 × 73 cm. Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam (Vincent van Gogh Foundation).
If you have already registered for this opening, please find this email as not sent.

Dear journalist,

We are pleased to invite you to the press preview of Van Gogh and the Sunflowers.

Sunflowers (1889), one of Vincent van Gogh’s best-known paintings, will be the centrepiece of the summer exhibition Van Gogh and the Sunflowers. The presentation will highlight the flower’s significance to the painter and what he hoped to achieve with his Sunflowers. Van Gogh himself thought that this work was among the best things he had done.
A great deal of study has been devoted to the masterpiece from the Van Gogh Museum’s collection in recent years. The exhibition will show what the latest technical research has contributed to our knowledge of Van Gogh’s working methods, the discolouration of certain pigments and the painting’s conservation history and current condition. The public will also have a first opportunity to see the back of the masterpiece, including the wooden strip that Van Gogh himself added to create more space for the sunflowers.

Shoe Box mLet me know Andrea Bersagliere will have a one day exhibit in NYC Truthfully I did not see the date, follow the link

Andrea Bersaglieri finishes her residency at Shoebox Projects with te(r)ra desideratum a one day exhibition of brand new work

660 South Avenue 21 #3, Los Angeles 90031
Sunday, June 16, 2019 3 – 6 PM
Humans have a predetermined aesthetic preference for nature. It is an evolutionary remnant. But the formal, conceptual, emotional relationship between urbanites and nature is fraught with contradictions. These contradictions are the inspiration for Andrea Bersaglieri's Artist-in-residence exhibition, te(r)ra desideratum, at Shoebox Projects, May 27 to June 16.

The trees, the shrubs and grasses, were nearly all planted here by someone in an attempt to simulate the ideal savannah. We know that, but their presence still stirs our ingrained unshakable appreciation of the aesthetic. They have become our “substitute nature”. The context in which we experience nature seems to amplify its importance. The mundane frameworks within which nature manages to exists here concentrates its beauty and power.

Going from tree to plant to weed to soil looking for, looking at, trying to understand. Bersaglieri uses traditional observational drawing methods in an effort to record this evolution and understand it.

Please join us for the closing reception of te(r)ra desideratum on June 16, 3-6pm.

Of course the NYT headline at the time focused on how the helmeted, armed police were affected, rather than the couple of hundred citizens who they harrassed, intimidated and beat up for being

MadeIn Gallery is pleased to present in LISTE 2019 Miao Ying's artwork series "Hardcore Digital Detox" (HDD) commissioned by M+ Museum (HK) and "Chinternet Plus" commissioned by New Museum (New York) created between 2016 to 2018.
About Hardcore Digital Detox" (HDD)
www.hardcoredigitaldetox.com is a strategic brand and concept website commissioned by Hong Kong’s M+ Museum. The series revolves around the artist's concept brand "Hardcore Digital Detox" (HDD), showcased in the form of VR devices, video, oil paintings and sculptures, all derived from HDD concept strategy website.
It appears that people need to escape the control of technology more than ever. The popular "data detox", a process that restricts the usage of electronic networking devices such as smartphones and computers, has been touted as a new form of health maintenance in the information age. The concept brand "HDD (Hardcore Digital Detox)" is inspired by the lifestyle branding constantly generated in the post-material society. Those brands market their products by selling specific lifestyles. In this exhibition, Miao also adopts such an approach to distribute strategic lifestyle advice to the audience. The hardcore of HDD is the suggestion of a new, crude method of "fighting fire with fire" data detoxification to achieve unexpected therapeutic effects.
