In the vein of crime classics like MEAN STREETS and INFERNAL AFFAIRS, REVENGE OF THE GREEN DRAGONS follows two immigrant brothers Sonny (Justin Chon) and Steven (Kevin Wu) who survive the impoverished despair of New York in the 1980s by joining Chinatown gang "The Green Dragons". The brothers quickly rise up the ranks, drawing the unwanted attention of hard-boiled city cops. After an ill- fated love affair pits Sonny against his own brother, he sets out for revenge on the very gang who made him who he is. From acclaimed Director Andrew Lau and Andrew Loo, and legendary Executive Producer Martin Scorsese comes a brilliant mix between a Hong Kong action film and a New York City crime thriller, portraying the never-before-told true story of "The Green Dragons".  

 

REVENGE OF THE GREEN DRAGONS stars Justin Chon (TWILIGHT), Kevin Wu, Harry Shum, Jr. (GLEE and seen in the upcoming CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON II: THE GREEN DESTINY), Shuya Chang (CHINESE PUZZLE), Jin Auyeung (THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS), Eugenia Yuan (MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA) with Geoff Pierson (J. EDGAR), Billy Magnussen (seen in the upcoming INTO THE WOODS) and Ray Liotta, reuniting him with Martin Scorsese for the first time in nearly 25 years since GOODFELLAS.

 

The film also reunites Lau with Martin Scorsese, who came on-board as an Executive Producer on the film. Scorsese previously won an Academy Award © for THE DEPARTED, a remake of Lau’s INFERNAL AFFAIRS.

The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.  DirecTV immediately followed with an exclusive 30-day window which began September 11, followed by  A24's theatrical release October 24th @ Village East. This is the third film to be released in the partnership between A24 and DirecTV following Denis Villeneuve's critically acclaimed ENEMY starring Jake Gyllenhaal, and Jeff Baena's directorial debut LIFE AFTER BETH.

House of the Nobleman is delighted to announce that it will be celebrating its 5th annual exhibition, during Frieze week and PAD (Pavilion of Art & Design), with a major display of Light Art at 12 Hay Hill in London’s Mayfair. Curated by House of the Nobleman director, Victoria Golembiovskaya, LIGHT FANTASTIC will be a dazzling presentation of art works by leading artists of the genre as well as new work by some of today’s most exciting artists, including Conrad Shawcross, Cerith Wyn Evans, Troika, Random International and Tim Noble & Sue Webster. Throughout history, artists have been fascinated by light, its nature, behavior and transformative qualities, but only in the last few decades, assisted by vast technological developments, has it become a medium for art. Capturing the tangible and sensory nature of this natural force, light technology has allowed for the creation of a new, dynamic genre that has the ability to challenge our perceptions, stimulating wonder and serene contemplation. Art League of Long Island Congratulates Winners of Photo Exhibit Pattern & Rhythm Through the Lens

The Opening Reception of the Art League of Long Island’s photography exhibit titled Pattern & Rhythm Through the Lens held on September 28 celebrated works by 42 artists from the tri-state area.  This juried exhibit challenged photographers to explore the patterns and rhythms of the world around them.  The photographers found these rhythmic patterns in man-made structures, nature, shadows and light, and more, using the camera lens to focus our attention on their imaginative visions and interpretations. 

Professor Barbara Jaffe, head of the photography program at Hofstra University, selected 60 works out of more than 581 entries in the exhibit, singling out four artists to share the distinction of Awards of Excellence and five to share Honorable Mentions.
