Prisms of the Potomac
Prisms set into the south wall of the National Museum of the American Indian provide a colorful indicator of the passing day and the changing seasons. Interviews with museum staff and with Charles Ross, the artist who designed and installed the prisms, connect the beauty of the solar spectrum they cast with universal aspects of indigenous cultures. This video was created by Sarah M. Turner during an internship with the museum.
The Art of Storytelling: Pueblo Stories and Songs

This family experience will delight all ages as they listen to storyteller and musician Gregg Analla (Isleta/Laguna) as he shares songs and stories from his Pueblo culture. Performances at 12 noon, 2 and 3:30 p.m.

In 2011, Porter Contemporary presented A Portrait Apart, an exhibition of 15 artists from over six countries whose views on portraiture gave a diverse overview of the understanding of a well-known art form. A Portrait Apart, Deux opening February 27 further explores the idea of contemporary portraiture through the works of twenty-two artists and over ten mediums.
