The Suncoast Arts Fest benefits "Arts for Kids! in Pasco County"

SAF is a family oriented cultural event. Artwork exhibited must be appropriate for viewers of all ages. The SAF committee has the sole exclusive and final authority to determine if any work is not acceptable for display.
  
To maintain the integrity of the show as a fine art and fine craft show, all works must be original, executed by the applying artist, created by hand and not mass produced. "Buy/Sell" or embellishments on commercial items are absolutely prohibited.  
  
Each artist is required to provide a standard white 10'x10' artist's tent. Spaces of approximately 12'x12' will be provided for each tent. All spaces are on streets and tents must be secured by weights only as wind can be an issue - no tent stakes are allowed. Tent canopies may extend out, but presented artwork must be within or hanging from the tent.

212GALLERY is pleased to present In Honor Of The Occupation of Wall Street featuring nine new works which incorporate the poetry of Bertolt Brecht and macaroni collage, in some cases, through their conspicuous absence.

As is the case with almost every living artist today, Lieberman’s oeuvre is composed of an eclectic mix of mediums, formats and techniques, including collages, sculptures, paintings, installations, and videos. Lieberman is an artist rooted in pagan Germanic mythology, whose exhibition résumé reads like chapters in an ongoing investigation in search for meaning in a world driven by value judgments and contradictions – be they cultural, commercial, artistic or hierarchical. He has a tendency towards Wagnerian epics, particularly in representations of his everyday existence.

His 2005 show Time and Money dealt with topics ranging from art and advertisement, time, memory and premonition, the cult of authenticity, to teenage counterfeiters and the popular cartoonist Gary Larson, while his 2006 Agency: Open House show attempted to find some sort of middle ground between the commodity circus of Koons or Murakami against the reactive refusal to submit to commercial trends. 

When asked what his work was about several years ago, Lieberman replied, “Exhibition Structures, Regional Traditions, Commercial Display, Mass Culture, Junk Sculpture, Authorship, Perversion.” When confronted with this in an e-mail I wrote him on the 8th of December, he insisted that this was a total lie and he had been misquoted. Lieberman has an obsessive affinity for the character Porygon.

In this show, his piece Valentine Für Die Kleine Frau (Red Property Line with Gold Easement and Multi-Tool) incorporates a book, a skillet, and a shower head, among other things. Price $12,000.

Upper Case Violenceis a wooden assemblage screwed directly into the wall and exhibiting a pair of plastic teeth. The teeth were originally part of another work, Theory of Voice-Over which was  destroyed after being shown in Paris. The actual meaning of the piece is far too complicated to develop on here.

“Every 'piece' is basically a fragment of something larger, meanings, materials, and ideas are carried over,” Lieberman said.  “Sometimes, I have more control, sometimes I have less. I like when works are added to, or taken away from, or destroyed, defaced, or preserved."

Lieberman was born in 1977 in Miami. He received his BFA, at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston (MA); his MFA at Yale University in New Haven (CT) in sculpture. He has exhibited in galleries in Great Britain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Los Angeles and New York.

Established in 1971, the Broad Ripple Art Fair sponsored by Fifth Third Bank brings together more than 225 artists from the U.S. and Canada, booths from local cultural organizations, kid's activities throughout the art fair, two food courts, four beer and wine gardens and live entertainment on three outdoor stages and the Frank M. Basile Auditorium. The Art Fair takes place in ArtsPark on the grounds of the Indianapolis Art Center annually each May. All proceeds from the Art Fair directly benefit Art Center education, exhibition and outreach programs. The 42nd Broad Ripple Art Fair will take place May 19-20, 2012 with a preview party sponsored by Indianapolis Power & Light Company on May 18, 2012.

Granville Art Affair & Wine Festival

Licking County's largest juried art festival located on the Great Lawn of the Bryn Du Mansion in historic Granville.  This unique show features a hands-on art project tent for all ages hosted by the Granville Studio of Visual Arts, live entertainment, refreshments, and Sunday polo match. Dublin Art Fair

Located on the front  lawn of Sells Middle School and Indian Run Elementary School off of the US 33-SR 161-Bridge Street exit in Dublin, Ohio.  This highly visible show benefits from a significant volume of drive-by  traffic in the desirable historic district of Dublin.  New dates this year coincide with the Arthritis Foundation Classic Car Show & Cruise-In (www.arthritisautoshow.com) held less than 1 mile from show site.  Free trolley rides between the Art Show and Car Show will increase attendance significantly.  Fine art, live entertainment,  fine food and an art project activity tent for all ages make this art fair a popular one.  Show site for 2012 will expand allowing more space between/around individual artist booth spaces.   The Dublin Art Fair is presented by the Dublin  Area Art League and Grand Scheme Promotions LLC.

Verona Park is a beautiful Essex County Park in Verona, New Jersey. The park boasts a boat house with rental boats and canoes, a lovely lake and many flower gardens. Located on busy Bloomfield Avenue in Verona, it is an excellent location for an outdoor fine art and fine craft show. The park is next to Montclair, West Orange, and Cedar Grove. Police estimates for attendance are 10-12,000 people.

The 26th annual Fine Art & Crafts at Verona Park is co-sponsored with the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs and Rose Squared Productions, Inc. Due to county food concessions, food vendors need not apply. The free to the public show runs from 10am-5pm.

Our oldest show has been selected as one of Sunshine Artists' Magazine's top 200 shows in the country. Anderson Park is a lovely county park, one block away from the main street in Upper Montclair, an affluent, arty area in northern New Jersey.

Situated in affluent Westfield, NJ, this indoor show is a welcome addition to our long-standing, successful outdoor events. Building on our database of 28,000 show attendees, we provide an extensive advertising campaign that includes highway billboards, newspapers, direct mailing and posters/discount postcard distribution and more. This past November, the attendance was approximately 5,000 attendees.

Featuring approximately 130 fine artists and fine craftspeople, the armory is piped and draped and the aisles are carpeted with runners creating the appropriate upscale atmosphere. This is a gated show with the publicity postcards and newspaper ads being discount opportunities. The hours of the show are 10am-6pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday.

“Director’s Cut 2012” Opens at Art League of Long Island February 11

Anthony Catania - "Vihreä"

“Director’s Cut 2012” is back by popular demand with a new group of
dynamic young artists.  Get a preview of what art in the new decade
may look like as the Art League of Long Island presents a talent
showcase that best represents the individual voice in the collective
from the art departments of Long Island’s colleges and universities.

To see what a new generation is thinking and doing in the realm of
visual art, fourteen colleges and university gallery directors or art
department heads on Long Island were asked to select a promising
student or recent graduate to participate in this unique exhibition.
The response was enthusiastic.

The institutions taking part are Adelphi University, Dowling College,
Farmingdale State College, Hofstra University, Long Island University,
New York Institute of Technology, St. Joseph’s College, SUNY Old
Westbury, and SUNY Stony Brook.

Don Hee Lee - "Conjunction"

Among the young artists on view are Anthony Catania’s works on
environmental issues, nominated by Professor Stephen Lamia at Dowling
College; Dong Hee Lee’s spherical molten glue cellular installation,
chosen by Graduate Director, Seung Lee at LIU C.W.Post campus; Kaitlyn
Yale’s vibrant portraits chosen by Professor Laurie Fendrich at
Hofstra University; prints focused on intimate objects by Katarzyna
Bator for the undergraduate program and vivacious carnival paintings
representing his culture by Jaleel Akaloo representing the Masters
Program, both selected by Eliz Alahverdian, Director of Exhibitions at
Adelphi University.

The exhibit also will feature the multilayered complex textural image
by Michael Capobianco, nominated by Catherine Bernard from SUNY Old
Westbury campus and Drawings by Dan Hess chosen by Stephanie Dinkins,
the director of graduate program SUNY Stony Brook. Rounding out the
exhibition are the prints by Arianna Warner chosen by Professor Nobuho
Nagasawa for the undergraduate program at SUNY Stony Brook; the
manipulated self-portrait of Christina Xenophontos recommended by
Peter Voci of NYIT; and Erica Mailand’s abstracted figure drawings
nominated by the Professor Dawn Lee at St. Joseph’s College in
Patchogue.

The exhibit is on view in the Art League’s Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery
February 11 through March 18.  An artist’s reception takes place
Sunday, February 12 from 3pm – 5pm.

Celebrating its 36th year, The Cedarhurst Art & Craft Fair has grown into one of the largest events in the region.  Held annually the weekend after Labor Day, The Cedarhurst Art and Craft Fair is an open air event situated among the large scale art of Kuenz Sculpture Park on the grounds of Cedarhurst in southern Illinois. In addition to the annual Art & Craft Fair, visitors to Cedarhurst will also enjoy the 5 art exhibition galleries of Mitchell Museum, and the beautiful lake, woods and trails throughout the sculpture park. Mt. Vernon lies at the crossroads of I-57 and I-64 and attracts visitors to the fair from southern Illinois, St. Louis, MO, Springfield, IL, Evansville, IN and Paducah, KY. Music entertainment and food concessions accompany the art fair and (according to reviews) artist hospitality keeps many artists returning to this show!
